Things my dad and I say after Wrestling Practice.
- How much do you weigh? (Fat)
- Are you eating tonight? (Obviously not)
- Who do you wrestle tomorrow? (I don’t know)
- What do you mean “I don’t know?” (I don’t know)
- Calm down. (Good advice)
- Are you Hungry? (Obviously)
- How was practice? (It sucked, thanks for asking though)
- What time does the bus leave tomorrow? (Before the meet)
- What time do you need to get up? (Early)
Things I had to do to become all-state
I wrote this poem because these are the main things that I had to do to reach my long time goal of being an all-state wrestler in the state of Michigan.
- Run a lot on the treadmill before the season
- Eat healthier than most others
- Work harder in the wrestling room
- Be mentally prepared when I walk on the mat
- Wrestle all six minutes
- Wrestle with the sense in mind that you were better than everyone
- If the person beat you, then they beat you
- Don’t hang your head after a tough loss
- Cut weight to a lighter weight class
- Beat people that had beaten me before
- Win the district title
- Win the regional title
- Not be too pressured by the environment, no matter what
- Leave it all on the mat.
