Just Because Poems
Just because I play sports
Don’t talk about me behind my back
Don’t think I am the same as all the rest
Just because I play sports
Doesn’t mean I am mean
Doesn’t mean I stereotype
Doesn’t mean I don’t associate with other people
Just because I play sports
Still talk to me
Don’t call me names like “jock”
Just because I play sports – Doesn’t mean I wont listen.
I wrote this poem for the stereotypical people that say that all jocks are mean to everyone else, don’t care about anything but sports and are not very smart in school. I happen to know many smart people that play sports in the community and are very smart students.
Just Because I’m graduating
I’m not gone forever
I’m not going that far away
Just Because I’m graduating
I’m not irresponsible
I’m not forgetful
I’m not dependent
Just Because I’m graduating
Don’t think I’m gone for good
Call me every day when I leave
Just Because I’m graduating – let me go mom.
I wrote this poem because my mom is having a hard time with her first son going off to college soon. I am the first born so this is all new to her because she went to high school in a different country.
