Legalizing prostitution would not only reduce STDs it would also help our unstable economy in the United States. On top of the mandatory health checks and tests for sexually transmitted diseases and sexually transmitted infections, if prostitution were to be legalized then there should be taxes taken by the government. For prostitution to be a career in the United States and for it to not be shot down by the people, it would only be fair if taxes were taken out of the prostitute’s paychecks. Prostitution has a very unusual feature that most occupations do not consist of. It is well paid despite being low-skill, labor intensive and, one might add, female dominated (“Economics”). On top of that there would be no need for a degree of any sort, or even a high-school diploma.
